IAM VINEET VINOD GURAV TALKING ABOUT MY VIEWS AND THOUGHTS ABOUT" MICROSOFT",BEING A PART OF "MICROSOFT STUDENT ASSOCIATE",HOW IT IMPACTED MY LIFE AND TRANSFORMED OR TO BE SPECIFIC CHANGED THE SCENARIO OF HOW PEOPLE LOOK TOWARDS TECHNOLOGY.
IAM AN ENGINEERING STUDENT PERSUING MY BACHELORS DEGREE IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING FROM NMAM INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY,NITTE

SO HERE IT GOES" MY JOURNEY..............."
Where technology meets passion,

Where dreams become reality,

When imaginations swing high,

Innovations reaches epitome when ideas become prime movers,

Envisioning innovative creations touching different facets of life,

When challenges give sweet, addicting pain,

Then time comes when life equals being part of MICROSOFT,

Love Microsoft, Love technology, Love life.

Microsoft is cradle of technology , home of technocrats, dedicated for serving people giving them joy ride in the world of technology. Microsoft is my support system, it empowers me to create, innovate, ideate using Microsoft technologies.

It was on one of those terribly long summer afternoons that I first laid eyes on a Microsoft creation. I was just 8 years old and had already been fascinated by the world’s most revolutionary invention, ‘the computer’. Having repeatedly seen my dad work on the machine, I had learnt the basic know-how and had begun meddling with the icons on the desktop. It was the name ‘paint’ that immediately caught my attention.

Soon, I was transported to a whole new world of colorful cars and butterflies, enough to send my summer vacation flying. Two years later, in a lecture session, I find myself shouting out the word ‘Microsoft’ with the rest of my classmates. We had just been introduced to the kingmaker of the computer industry. It was then followed by the enlightenment that paint was a creation of Microsoft. I was hence curious to know what other amazing tools this company had to offer.

"Microsoft Word" was soon on my list. Letting my fingers dance on the keyboard, typing utter gibberish was a joy in itself. More fun was changing fonts, adding colors and knowing I could print out stacks of paper with words, pictures and what not!
Once I entered middle school, class seminars had become a weekly activity and I am sure without Microsoft PowerPoint I would have felt lost.
The best thing about this application is you don’t need anybody to teach you to use it.

Microsoft Excel was yet another tool that came in handy at school. Built-in formulas and ready to make charts were like a huge blessing. By then I had also become familiar with the working of operating systems like Windows 98. And just when I started getting bored came each up gradation with a lot more features and hence more fun.
The OS is rightly named ‘Windows’ as it opens up to a whole new arena of computing. The GUI provided by Windows is a treat to game-mongers. Age of empires was a big-time addiction of mine as a child.

Yet another innovation, Internet explorer is a navigator that I could blindly trust to guide me through the web world. Sitting at home, I could globe-trot, looking for information of all sorts using search engines like msn,

now replaced by its far superior successor, now replaced by its far superior successor,

now replaced by its far superior successor,
Bing.  Internet explorer was also useful in helping me develop skills like web designing which turned out to be fruitful later on. Years ago when telephones had not been invented, the only means of communicating with distant friends was by writing letters. The charm of letter-writing still remains and Microsoft had just improvised it by introducing hotmail. There was a rage then to have fancy usernames (I still remember mine: sleepingbeauty_7). Now I have accounts in Yahoo, Gmail, blah, blah, blah....but my first username and mail id will always remain special.

Microsoft’s biggest boon to game lovers like me is the invention of the

             Xbox

After a long day at college, coming home to the Xbox was like coming home to a sweet GIRL FRIEND ;) too good to be true.  With the addition of With the addition of kinect playing became more fun and addictive :P spending quality time with the family had become a delight because of Xbox .

Wherever you are, wherever they are – Skype keeps you together and connected.

I have spent my one year in college  staying in hostel  in Nitte,Mangalore. Its situated in the city outskirts and its kinda boring out there,Though I could talk over phone to my parents, I still missed home terribly. That’s when I stumbled upon Skype. It’s true what they say; sight must be the most delightful of all senses. For all the naysayers, you would agree with me if you were marooned of to a deserted island with nothing but phone calls to keep you going. :)
thats how i feel comfortable and secure..

the Lumia phones. The windows interface has comfortable shrunk to the size of an average palm. In addition to complete intelligibility, it hosts a variety of unique apps that make the phone superior to its counterparts.

Why  should I become Microsoft Student Associate 2014?
I see big ideas and great potential in the eyes of my fellow students. I also believe, based on my experience showing youngsters how an app or a game is made, that a flow of amazing next generation ideas are on the horizon. I am really happy that Microsoft sees the potential too, and I wish all universities and schools could truly see how Microsoft is not just a firm but works in its own way for society.
Well through the rigorous exposure to Microsoft technologies I feel empowered but I have observed that unfortunately there are students out there in campuses who don’t even have glimpse of Microsoft technologies such as Azure, its usage is a question far beyond it. That’s where my role steps in. I love to reach out to people making them aware of Microsoft technologies because that’s where the world is going to live in coming yrs. There are brilliant students out there unaware of dreamspark,Windows Azure,MVAs,university, channel 9,Microsoft Office etc. I considering myself a mediator between the lord of innovative technologies-MICROSOFT & the ignited newbie students will acquaint everybody with Microsoft technologies.
My 10 point formula is as under:-
  • I will act as tech socialist
  • Promotion of latest Microsoft technologies & products.
  • Knowledge provision by conducting workshops, opening of dreamspark account by everybody & persuading students the wonders of creating stuffs by using Microsoft technologies.
  • Social Media
  • Apps, blogs, websites etc.
  • Faculty Connect
  • Encouragement on learning technologies from MVA about everything ranging from curriculum & beyond.
  • Creating Idea forums where students are encouraged to discuss, publish ideas so that even if they don’t know how to materialize we can help them out with Microsoft technologies
  • Extra knowledge provision on SMAC especially cloud services
  • Providing any kind of help to innovators by reaching out to MSPs, technocrats of Microsoft & faculties

Finally keeping my hand on books of technologies I take my oath of Microsoft Student Associates
